GTA 6 launches at $79.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Ultimate — the first flagship AAA title to formally move the baseline price from $69.99 to $79.99 at launch. Here is everything officially confirmed about each edition, sourced directly from the Rockstar Games pre-order listing.
Standard Edition — $79.99
The Standard Edition is the full game on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It covers the complete story campaign featuring Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval across the entire state of Leonida, plus GTA Online access when the multiplayer component launches post-release.
Available as a digital download or physically as a code-in-a-box — a printed card with a download code in retail packaging, no disc. Anyone who pre-orders before November 20, 2026 also receives the Vintage Vice City Pack, a set of themed in-game items. Rockstar has not yet detailed the Pack's exact contents.
Ultimate Edition — $99.99
The Ultimate Edition costs an additional $20 and includes all Standard Edition content plus the following officially confirmed bonus items:
- '95 Grotti Cheetah — a classic-era supercar available from day one, exclusive to Ultimate Edition owners
- Dinka Enduro Motorcycle — a performance off-road bike suited to Leonida's varied terrain
- Crest Kayak — a non-motorised watercraft for Leonida Keys exploration
- Two exclusive vehicle mod shops — additional customisation locations not available in Standard Edition
- Exclusive tattoo and apparel sets — cosmetic options for both Lucia and Jason
- Vintage Vice City Pack — included regardless of pre-order date
Digital pre-orders of either edition also include one month of GTA+, Rockstar's online subscription. GTA+ currently renews at $9.99/month and must be cancelled manually to avoid charges after the free month ends.
The Pre-Order Bonus
The Vintage Vice City Pack is guaranteed only through November 20, 2026 — one day after the November 19 launch date. If you plan to buy GTA 6 at or near launch, pre-ordering carries no added risk and locks in the bonus. The exact in-game items in the Pack have not been announced by Rockstar as of this writing.
Is the Ultimate Edition Worth $20 More?
If you intend to use the vehicles extensively in both story mode and GTA Online, the $20 gap is reasonable for three exclusive vehicles plus the two mod shop locations. The vehicles are cosmetically differentiated at minimum — whether they have any mechanical advantage over base-game vehicles has not been confirmed.
If your focus is the story campaign, the Standard Edition has everything you need. Neither edition includes story DLC or a season pass. Rockstar has not announced any post-launch expansion plans.
No Physical Disc — What This Means
GTA 6 is the largest AAA release to abandon the physical disc entirely. Both editions come in physical retail boxes, but each box contains only a download code. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed this on June 27, 2026 following Rockstar's pre-order listings. This decision has divided the community: digital-first players are unaffected, while collectors and players with capped or slow broadband face real constraints. Official download size has not been confirmed.
