Will GTA 6 Run at 60 FPS? What's Confirmed on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox

Few questions about GTA 6 attract more confident answers with less behind them. Here's what's actually known, sorted by how solid it is.

Confirmed

• Confirmed GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19.
• Confirmed The PlayStation Store listing carries a PS5 Pro Enhanced label.
• Confirmed No frame rate, resolution target or list of graphics modes has been published by Rockstar for any console.

The label doesn't promise 60 FPS. "Enhanced" can mean higher resolution, better ray tracing, or a steadier frame rate, and the listing doesn't say which.

Reported

• Reported GTA Intel summarises retailer pre-order listings showing two selectable modes, Performance and Quality, on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The listing gives no frame-rate figures, so the 30 and 60 readings are assumptions.
• Reported GTA Intel also cites Digital Foundry's view that a stable 60 FPS is unrealistic in a world this dense, because the work is CPU-bound and PS5 Pro shares the base console's CPU.

Rumour

• Rumour Insiders claim Rockstar is working on a 60 FPS mode that may not be ready for launch and could arrive later.
• Rumour Series S is claimed to be 30 FPS with Microsoft engineers helping. We've seen no official word on Series S performance at all.

These claims conflict with each other, and outlets have run opposite headlines from them.

What this means if you're buying hardware

Don't buy a PS5 Pro on the assumption it'll deliver 60 FPS. Nobody outside Rockstar and its partners can promise that today. Expect the first reliable answers from reviews, reported for November 18, and technical analysis once the game is out. Our console guide covers what is known.

We'll update this page when Rockstar or Sony publishes specifics.
