Confirmed official Rockstar, Take-Two or platform source. Reported a named outlet, not confirmed by Rockstar. Rumour unverified, treat with caution.
There's no official GTA 6 preset to copy. Confirmed Rockstar hasn't published a resolution, frame rate, HDR format or VRR details for any console, in anything we've read. Guides offering exact GTA 6 brightness values are guessing. What you can do now is make sure your TV and console are set up correctly.
On your TV
Reported SlashGear's guide covers these general steps:
- Turn on game mode. It switches off extra processing such as sharpening and automatic brightness, which reduces input lag.
- Use the right HDMI port. Some TVs limit gaming features to specific inputs, so check your manual.
- Turn on enhanced HDMI for that input. The name varies by brand. On recent LG OLEDs it's HDMI Deep Color.
- Turn on VRR if your TV has it. Some sets need a manual toggle.
On PS5
Confirmed From PlayStation's support pages:
- Go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output.
- Under HDR, choose On When Supported to show non-HDR content in standard range, or Always On to convert it.
- Choose Adjust HDR and follow the steps.
- Leave Resolution on Automatic so the console picks the highest your TV supports.
Reported SlashGear also points to Video Output Information in the same menu, which shows whether your TV's HDR, VRR and 120Hz are recognised.
On Xbox Series X|S
Reported SlashGear points to Settings > General > TV & Display Options. The 4K TV Details menu there summarises what your TV supports. Microsoft's menus can change, so if yours differ, look for the display options under General.
VRR and 120Hz: don't assume
VRR helps only if the TV, port, cable, console and game all support it. Rumour Reports of Performance and Quality modes remain unconfirmed, with no official frame rates. So set things to Automatic, where available, instead of forcing anything.
Before you buy a new TV
Wait. Without any published specs, there's no way to know what a new TV would add for this game. Our console guide makes the same case for hardware in general.
After launch
In-game display options are unknown until people can see the menus. We'll update this page with what's actually there. Launch dates are on the calendar.

Yes, generally. Game mode reduces input lag on most TVs.
Does GTA 6 support 120Hz or VRR?
Rockstar hasn't confirmed this. Setting your console to Automatic where available means it can use them if the game supports them.
