Take-Two Interactive reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 results on Friday, August 7, 2026, and the single line GTA 6 fans cared about did not move: Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The date sits in Take-Two's release table and in CEO Strauss Zelnick's own words in the press release.

The Numbers

  • Net bookings: $1.39 billion, down 3% from $1.42 billion a year earlier, and slightly above Take-Two's own guidance range.
  • GAAP revenue: about $1.53 billion, ahead of analyst consensus.
  • Recurrent consumer spending: 84% of bookings, with NBA 2K and the existing Grand Theft Auto series ahead of expectations.
  • Full-year outlook: reiterated at $8.0 to $8.2 billion in net bookings.
  • Q2 guidance: $1.62 to $1.67 billion.
  • Net loss: $0.18 per share, driven by a $43.4 million impairment on a cancelled third-party title, not anything Rockstar.

What Zelnick Said About GTA 6

The key sentence from the release: "With these positive trends and excitement around the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, we are reiterating our Fiscal 2027 Net Bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion."

On the call, Zelnick described pre-order activity as exceptional and unprecedented, but was careful to add that pre-orders remain cancellable and that the company does not yet know how they will translate into sales. That is why guidance was held rather than raised, a conservative stance Take-Two has taken throughout the GTA 6 cycle.

The Netflix Surprise

The one marketing beat to come out of the call: Zelnick confirmed a partnership with Netflix for an extended look at GTA 6 on August 27, 2026, which would later appear on Rockstar's YouTube channel about six hours after its Netflix debut. That is the first gameplay reveal of the cycle. We covered it in full in everything revealed in the Extended Look.

What the Call Did Not Include
