Rockstar has settled the two questions players have been asking for months. Confirmed Digital pre-load for Grand Theft Auto VI begins on November 10, 2026, and the download is up to 212 GB depending on your device.
That moves the date up from the November 12 figure Rockstar gave earlier, so any guide still quoting the 12th is out of date. November 12 now applies to boxed copies only.

Confirmed The PS5 and Xbox times come from Rockstar. Reported The ET and PT conversions are as reported by Kotaku and other outlets, and match the GMT time.
How much room 212 GB really takes
The figure is "up to", and Rockstar has not published a per-console split, so one console may need less than another. As a rough guide, Kotaku works it out at about a third of a launch PS5's storage, about a quarter of a 1 TB PS5, and closer to half of an Xbox Series S. See the numbers for every console.
Also leave some headroom. Consoles can need spare working space while installing, and Rockstar hasn't said whether a separate launch-day update is on top of this figure.
